What is Power BI? It is part of the Microsoft Power Platform. It is a reporting tool from Microsoft, but besides building reports it can also be used as data analysis tool.

It is not new in the market, because it contains elements of Excel like Power Pivot and Power View. But Microsoft has combined all the powers of visualization and analysis in just one tool, that you can use both On-Premise and in the Cloud. It consists of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Premium, Power BI Report Server, Power BI Embedded and Power BI Mobile.

Because new releases appears every month, it is getting bigger and bigger and now you can even start building small ETL processes in Power BI using Power BI Dataflows. You can also create paginated reports (standard / traditional SSRS reports) using Power BI Paginated Report Builder.a
